John’s narrative is unique among the four Gospels and bridges the gap between Christ’s ministry to the Jews and His establishment of the Church. Building his Gospel around seven miracles performed by Jesus, John presents Christ to us as the eternal Son of God who came down from heaven to save sinners by His death on a cross. Most of the book concentrates on Christ’s ministry in Jerusalem rather than in Galilee. In this course we will examine basic facts about the book and then explore its message to us chapter by chapter.
